Radiology
In 2008 Drs John Bronner and Johan Ackerman purchased the first Galileos Cone Beam Xray Scanner in Kwazulu Natal. The machine enables a single low-dose 3D scan to provide the practitioner with the ability to do a comprehensive diagnosis of the entire oral-maxillofacial region. Galileos combines the data of 200 individual exposures taken in just 14 seconds to create a 3D volume of one billion voxels, at an exceptionally high level of detail. After a short reconstruction time , Galileos displays far more than just 3D views in high quality images. The system offers large volume for every display type – 3D, Cephalogram, Panoramic views, TSA slices and high resolution details with intuitive diagnostic navigation in real time. The software enables detailed treatment planning, including the planning of implant placement and the ordering of surgical guides for guided implant surgery.
